The People of the Blue-Green Waters

Have you ever been camping?

Sure, I’ve been camping, mostly when I was young and camping consisted of getting wasted with a 50/50 chance of either setting up the tent, or saying screw it, and sleeping in the car.  (This was before the glorious, pop up tent was invented.)

But next week I’m doing it right.  I will be visiting the Havasupai tribe Indian Reservation, (The People of the Blue-Green Water).  I will be hiking a descent of 10 miles and camping at the base of the Grand Canyon — three nights under the stars and four days exploring their beautiful waterfalls.  This trip has been on my bucket list for over 15 years.  It was a dream so far removed that I never thought I would make it, but oh, wouldn’t it be amazing.  Then, about a year ago, I decided to start going for what I wanted. I began slowly drawing everything that I’ve been wanting all of these years, and manifesting them into my reality.

And here I am — five days away from my departure that 12 months ago was just a daydream. So, yea, sure, I’ve been camping, but this is going to be an adventure of epic proportion.

    1. Yes! I’m bringing a journal to write in while I’m there. This trip is providing me with the opportunity to face multiple life long fears and anxieties – how exciting and terrifying all at once! Thanks for reading.

  2. A student once told me: the only way to overcome one’s fears is to face them (he chickened out but still good advice) so just keep positive thoughts and all will be well. 🙂
